Ocean Electrics South West are a friendly and reliable company who provide specialist and skilled electricians as additional manpower for commercial, industrial and residential projects.
Formed in 2014 by Kevin & Karen Dawe our workforce currently stands at 19 employees and a huge list of trusted sub-contractors and we also currently provide employment for 7 Apprentices who are learning their trade from experts in the field.
During this time we have built up an enviable client base around the South West and nationally, which resulted in a first year turnover of £1.1 million.
Additionally, we at Ocean Electrics South West have been providing Apprenticeships and Adult Improver training for electricians who already have a degree of experience/training or may have been part way through their Apprenticeship already.
Real world experience combined with mentoring from our specialist and highly qualified electricians means that our Apprentices and Adult trainees gain the skills and breadth of knowledge required that makes them a valuable asset to any team.
As well as our core business areas of Manpower and Training, we also provide PAT Testing for equipment as well as a complete Testing & Inspection service. This means we can ensure that your business is fully compliant with the current legislation set out in the ‘Electricity at Work Regulations 1989’.
Ocean Electrics have been supplying skilled electricians and electrical qualified manpower to companies since 2014. We understand that you may not have a workforce of sufficient size for every contract that you win, contracts can vary in scale dramatically - which means your requirements will change as well. This is where we come in, we can supply highly skilled, qualified and reliable electricians in support of your main workforce for any project regardless of size or sector.
In order to ensure that we keep a well motivated, highly qualified and skilled workforce, we ensure that our training and apprenticeships are of the highest standard. Our apprentices often come to us having already completed a year or more, we simply complete their training and ensure that they meet our high standards. Our Adult Trainees are often part qualified looking to go to the next level. We value our workforce which is why we look after our people!
Over time, electrical systems suffer wear and tear so we test your electrical installation including all parts of a distribution system from the main incoming supply point, through to wiring accessories such as sockets and light fitting. We can help you achieve compliance through inspection and testing of your electrical systems, ensuring that they have met the current legislation set out in the ‘Electricity at Work Regulations 1989’.
Ocean Electrics South West have the correct equipment and the qualified personnel to ensure that we can provide PAT (Portable Appliance Testing) testing for all your equipment. PAT testing is an important aspect of any Health & Safety Policy. We can ensure that your company ticks all the correct legislative boxes when it comes to your portable electrical appliances.

Kevin & Karen have worked alongside Paul Earl electrical on various retail projects for our clients (Waitrose, John Lewis & Sainsbury’s) for several years now, and there are further opportunities this year (2016) to work with us on up and coming non retail projects.

Ocean Electrics have always provided a first class flexible service to Paul Earl which has allowed us to keep on top of an ever changing scope of works in the retail industry.
All labour provided by Ocean carry the relevant certification (CSCS, IPAF, SSTS, SMSTS and accredited electrical JIB skills cards) to carry out the requested works.
